Le 15 mai 2013 : En adaptant pour le grand écran le roman de Francis Scott  Fitzgerald, Gatsby le Magnifique, véritable monument de la littérature américaine, Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge, Romeo & Juliette, Australia) s’attache à dépeindre les mœurs de la haute bourgeoisie américaine de l’entre-deux guerres dans une banlieue huppée de New York. C’est Léonardo Di Caprio qui incarne le rôle titre, personnage mystérieux, romantique et torturé. Le réalisateur australien tentera d’apporter une vision nouvelle de cette œuvre mélancolique dans une somptueuse fresque de la vie mondaine de cette époque où le faste des fêtes, l’argent et le jazz dissimulaient des destins tragiques, des amours contrariés et les âmes corrompues.

May 15th 2013: By adapting for the movies Francis Scott Fitzerald’s novel  » The Great Gatsby « , one of the great masterpieces of American literature, Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge, Romeo & Juliet, Australia) aims at depicting the ways of life, customs and moral values of the upper American class between the two world wars, in a fashionable and chic suburban zone of new York. Leonardo di Caprio plays the title role, a mysterious character, and a romantic and tormented soul. The Australian director will try to bring a fresh approach of this melancholic book in a sumptuous epic of the mundane life in this age where the splendour and ostentation of parties, flowing money and jazz concealed tragic destinies, thwarted loves and corrupt souls.

Le 29 mai  2013  :  Dans le  registre  de  la  comédie grand public délirante, Very Bad Trip 3, toujours réalisé par Todd Phillips, qu’on annonce comme l’ultime épisode des aventures éthyliques des quatre amis ayant déjà ruiné un enterrement de vie de garçon à Las Vegas et un mariage en Thaïlande. Si le synopsis de ce nouvel opus reste mystérieux, les scénaristes semblent avoir décidé de changer de modèle narratif après deux films relatant la reconstitution d’une nuit d’amnésie après une beuverie virile. Place à une histoire inédite centrée autour du personnage désopilant joué par Zach Galifianakis pour ce qui constituera sans doute l’une des comédies de l’année.

May 29th 2013: in a totally different genre and of an utterly delirious and comical streak, and meant for the general public, Very bad Trip 3, once again directed by Todd Philips, is presented as the last but not least episode of the intoxicating adventures of four friends having already ruined a stud party in Las Vegas and a wedding in Thailand. If the synopsis of this new opus is cloaked in mystery, the scriptwriters seem to have opted for a change of narrative model after two films dealing with a manly drinking spree. Now it would seal we have a totally new plot centred on the hilarious character played by Zach Galifianakis in what will probably be one of this year’s leading comedies.

Le 29 mai 2013 : En 2011 sortait Drive, polar incandescent, violent et hypnotique du réalisateur Nicolas Winding Refn, porté par l’interprétation de Ryan Gosling en vengeur taciturne et impitoyable. Only God Forgives, le nouveau film du cinéaste danois s’avère être un thriller situé en Thaïlande contant une violente vengeance familiale qui fait le pari de sublimer les codes de ce genre archi convenu grâce à son ambiance visuelle et sonore. C’est de nouveau Mister Gosling qui tentera de confirmer son statut de Steve MacQueen contemporain, en incarnant un nouveau héros vengeur à la gueule abîmée aux côtés de l’élégante Kristin Scott Thomas.

May 29th 2013: In 2011 the film Drive was released, a white-hot thriller, violent and hypnotic, directed by Nicolas Windine Refn, carried by the interpretation of Ryan Gosling as a taciturn and pitiless avenger. Only God Forvies, the Danish director’s new film is a thriller whose action takes place in Thailand and narrating the story of a violent family vengeance that challenges the conventional codes of the thriller genre thanks to its visual and sound ambiance. Once again mister Gosling will try to confirm his status of a new Steve McQueen, by embodying a new type of vengeful hero with a wrecked mug, by his side will be Kristin Scott Thomas.

Le 5 juin 2013 : Dans le thriller d’anticipation After Earth le réalisateur M. Night Shyamalan (6ème sens, Incassable Phénomènes) nous propose de visiter la Terre, 1000 ans après qu’un cataclysme ait obligé l’humanité à s’exiler. Nous suivrons le destin d’un père et son fils (joués par Will Smith et son propre fils Jaden Smith) ayant survécu à un accident et contraints de s’écraser sur notre planète désormais inhabitée et particulièrement hostile. Nos robinsons du futur devront réapprendre à survivre sur un territoire désormais libéré du joug humain et rendu au règne d’une nature sans pitié.

June the 5th 2013. In this science fiction thriller, After Earth from director M. Night Shyamalan (The 6th sense, Unbreakable, the Happening). He proposes to revisit earth, 1000 years after a cataclysm has forced humanity to exile. We will follow the destiny of a father and his son (played by Will Smith and his own son Jaden Smith), who have survived an accident and been forced to crash on our long inhabited yet somewhat hostile planet. Our Robinson Crusoes of the future will have to learn all over again how to survive in a territory now freed from human slavery and now the playground of a pitiless nature.

Le 12 juin 2013 : En 2009, J.J. Abrams nouveau chouchou du cinéma et de la télé US (Lost, Mission impossible 3, Super 8), prenait le risque de s’attirer les foudres de millions de fans à travers le monde en proposant un reboot de la série mythique Star Trek (comprendre une relecture de cet univers). Un succès interplanétaire plus tard, Abrams nous offre une suite avec Star Trek into Darkness, dont l’histoire annoncée comme plus sombre que le précédent vous invite à suivre le capitaine kirk et M. Spock ainsi que tout l’équipage de l’Enterprise à la poursuite de mystérieux terroristes ayant plongé l’univers dans le chaos, rien de moins. À ne pas rater pour tout fan d’oreilles pointues et de pyjamas moulants qui se respecte.

June the 12th 2013: En 2009, JJ Abrams, American cinema and TV’s new favorite, (Lost, Mission Impossible, Super 8), took the risk of angering millions of worldwide fans by proposing a reboot of the mythical series Star Trek (by this we mean a personal second reading of this universe). An interplanetary success later, Abrams offers us a sequel with Star Trek into darkness, whose storyline presented as darker than the previous opus invites us to follow captain Kirk and M Spock along with the whole crew of the Enterprise trying to catch mysterious terrorists having plunged the universe in chaos, and this is just the beginning. A sure hit for all true fans of pointed ears and close fitting pyjamas.

Le 15 mai sortie de Mama, produit par Guillermo Del Toro (le Labyrinthe de Pan, L’Orphelinat), film d’horreur espagnol sur l’histoire de petites filles ayant mystérieusement survécu seules dans une forêt et recueillies par leur oncle qui s’apercevra qu’une présence maléfique semble suivre les fillettes.

Le 19 juin 2013, ne vous laissez pas décourager par ce énième remake de Superman, Man of Steel, réalisé par Zack Snyder, cinéaste visionnaire (300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch), proposera à n’en pas douter un nouveau regard passionnant sur la mythologie de l’homme en collant volant ainsi qu’un spectaculaire déluge d’effets spéciaux.

Other releases : May the 15th, release of Mama, produced by Guillermo Del Toro (the Labyrinth of Pan, The orphanage), a Spanish horror movie about little girls have mysteriously survived alone in a forest and taken in by their uncle who will soon realize that the children seem to be followed by a malevolent presence.

June 19th, don’t let yourself be discouraged by another remake of Superman. Man of Steel, directed by Zack Snyder, visionary director (300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch), will no doubt propose a new passionate approach of the mythology of the flying man in tights along with a spectacular amount of special effects.
